This is a gorgeous Bone China Dinner Service, 8 Setting, from the renowned Royal Albert Old Country Roses collection – Made in England. The set is properly marked with Royal Albert back stamp. It bears second edition back stamp (1973 – 1993) and it is Made in England, not in China or Taiwan as the newer pieces. There could be few pieces with the first edition back stamp. The rims of this pattern are surrounded in blooming sprays of colorful English roses with hand-applied bands of 22-karat gold. This classic dinnerware pattern is practically synonymous with the name Royal Albert and a long-standing testament to timeless style and elegant craftsmanship. This pattern is decorated with the Old Country Roses signature motif of burgundy, pink and yellow roses, accented with lustrous gold banding. 8 (eight) Dinner plates 10 3/8 in diameter. 8 (eight) Luncheon/Salad plates 8 1/8 in diameter. 8 (eight) Bread and butter / Dessert plates 6 1/4 in diameter. 8 (eight) Coffee/Teacups – 3 1/2″ at the rim and 2 3/4″ high. 8 (eight) Saucers 5 1/2 diameter. It is very rare and just beautiful and will make a wonderful gift or will be a great addition to any vintage china collection. The set is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing – please refer to the pictures or ask questions. It is possible to have some minimal utensils marks consistent with normal use.
