Beautiful Elegant Bone China 22 x Piece Tea Service from Royal Albert’s. The Tea Service consists of 2.5 pint capacity Teapot, Cake Plate, 6 Tea Cups, 6 Saucers, 6 Side Plates, Milk Jug and Sugar Bowl. This’Old Country Roses’ Tea Service, made in England, is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks or crazing. The luxurious gilding to the scalloped edges, footings, handles and rims of all pieces is bright and vibrant. Royal Albert is the world’s most popular bone china, loved for it’s inherent beauty and unique designs. The success of Royal Albert’s royal association, dates back to the late 1800s. In 1896, Thomas Wild took over the Albert Works near Stoke-on-Trent – the factory named the year before to commemorate the birth of Prince Albert. In 1897, Thomas Wild & Co produced a range of commemorative wares to celebrate Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee: an association with royalty that continues to this day and which led to the name of Royal Albert. Pattern was designed by Harold Holdcroft and introduced in 1962. It truly captures summer in the English countryside, taking both rich and soft colours, combined with lush deep red roses, the warmth of tea roses blush pink, softened by a wash of dark green foliage. The teacups measure 2.75″/7cms high and 3.5″/9cms in diameter. The saucers measure 5.5″/14cms in diameter and the plates 6.25″/16cms. The two handle cake plate measures 10.25/26cms in diameter.
