Royal Albert 21 Piece Old Country Roses Coffee Service. Royal Albert 21 Piece Old Country Roses Pattern Coffee Service for sale. The set consists of 6 x cups standing just over 2.75 inches (7cm) in height, 6 x saucers measuring 5.5 inches (14cm) in diameter, 6 x tea plates measuring 6.25 inches (16cm) in diameter, milk jug, sugar bowl, and coffee pot standing about 8.75 inches (22cm) to the top of the lid finial which holds about 1.75 pints (UK). All pieces are in very good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration with all colours being bright and vibrant, including the edge gilding, just a few surface cutlery marks on the plates. They all have the first quality Royal Albert, Bone China, England backstamp on the base (samples of which are shown in the photos) except for one tea plate which has a scratch mark through signifying second quality. Welcome to William Sharpe Antiques. This lovely set comes complete with six coffee cups, six small saucers, milk jug, sugar bowl and biscuit plate. This wonderful set is in good used condition having no chips, cracks, crazing or repair with the exception of a couple of small nibbles to the rim of one cup (see photo). There is some minor wear to the gold rim on some pieces, from occasional use. Each piece in this attractive set has the original back stamp, which is highly sought after by seasoned collectors. A stunning set that will be the highlight of your collection for years to come! The sugar bowl and milk jug stand 5cm and 9cm tall respectively. The saucer has a diameter of 12cm with the cup standing 7cm tall and having a diameter at the opening of 7cm. The plate measures in at 21cm x 13cm. Unpacked, the set weighs in at near 1.7kgs. This is a truly Beautiful Coffee Pot – Excellent Quality. The “Old Country Roses” design is Royal Albert’s most popular design ever made. The Harold Holdcroft inspired Old Country Roses (OCR) was launched in 1962. Originally planned to be called Treasure Garden, Harold Holdcroft MSIA FRSA NRD, Royal Albert’s Art Director, based his design on the 1921 pattern King’s Ransom. The design was a result of years of work by Harold Holdcroft who said; We decided to incorporate all the ingredients we knew would be acceptable, richness of colour, softness of colour, good quality and a good value look. All these qualities are incorporated in the pattern. It has lush deep red roses, warmth from the tea roses, delicacy from the bluish pink and an overall softening off of the pattern by using a shade of soft warm green. Enhanced by the elegant traditional Royal Albert Montrose shape and the attractive scalloped edges finished in 22k gold, from the twist and curl of the teacup handles to the fluted trim on the teapot lid…. The attention to detail has contributed to a superb original design. This coffee pot is marked – Royal Albert – Bone China – England, which is the original backstamp1962 – 1973. Harold Holdcroft worked for Royal Albert until he retired in 1972 and his attention to detail ensured a high quality standard. This is the large Coffee Pot with lid that measures 25cm high x 22 cm from spout to the edge of the handle. I have on offer a Royal Albert coffee set for 10 in the”Old Country Roses” pattern comprising of x10 coffee cups 2 7/8” by 2 3/4” x10 4 7/8” saucers, x1 coffee pot 8” by 9” high, x2 4 3/4” coasters, x1 oblong sandwich plate 11 3/4” by 6 3/4” wie plus x1 creamer 3 7/8” by 3 3/8” high. All of these items are made in England & all the pieces have the pre 1962 back stamp which just says”Royal Albert Bone China England so dates to the early 1960’s. The set is in good condition, no damage, pattern is a nice deep red with a bright gold trim. This is a fixed priced listing. I use many companies so I will try to get the best service at the right price for you. There are several ways of posting parcels overseas. Weights exceeding 2 kilos will have to be sent using a courier. I would also use this service for higher value goods. Parcels under this weight are obviously cheaper than this. These prices will not apply to the UK, Asia or Europe. I have found the service unreliable & very slow.
